Eczema Face

Having an eczema breakout as a result of some makeup wipes I started reacting to and this was my face on the day of my engagement photoshoot. Yay *sarcasm* doesn't look too bad on camera, but just tons of patchy spots that look terrible with foundation on.  It looks cakey no matter how much primer you slather on, especially around the mouth area.  Eyeshadow on a dry patchy area is just a nightmare...
Probably also my body clearing out toxins from eating foods that are known triggers for me (dairy, sugar, chocolate, shellfish).  It always takes a while to heal since I'm impatient and scratch and like desserts... :/  Trying to be patient and be good with my diet, eating more fermented foods and taking my probiotic, fish oil and vitamins.  Week 2 from this day and getting better, takes about a month for skin to fully renew itself so hopefully be rash free in another week or so.  This week is definitely a lot less red than last week.  Egyptian magic cream has be helping keep the flakes hydrated.  By the end of the day my skin feels very dry and "tuggy" itchy with flakes but I know that means it's healing.
Rest up heal up!

False Eyelashes - Dolly Wink, Diamond Lash Little Wing Series

I'm still a makeup n00b and have been practicing playing around with false lashes.  I still gravitate towards the more natural looking lashes.  Recently I went to a makeup trial and the lashes the MUA used are super defined and flared at the wing giving a very cat eye look.  Excused the crooked or partially glued weirdness and derpy faces (that's just my face) ... I'm still learning, I did read a blogpost where they apply the glue to directly on the eye instead of the lash... I might try that next time since positioning is the biggest @#$%!
I always find it more helpful when I see the lash actually on a person.

I really love the dolly wink series but trim them a lot since I'm not really into the full on "dolly" look.  They're pricey but look so nice!  The Diamond Lash Little Wing series is a great cheaper alternative.

Sephora VIB 500 Point Perk Tarte Amazonian Treasures Collection

Like a good little hoarder, I held on to my points until a good 500 point perk came up.
I'm not sure if it's online only, I received a notice in my Beauty Insider email.
It's marked as a Beauty Insider Exclusive on the product page.

This is an amazing deal with a bunch of Tarte's best selling products.
All Tarte products are more natural and strives to use less harmful chemicals.  That being said they do still use Talc in their powders.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates

I love Tarte and have been using their products for a few years now, specifically their eyeshadows and mascara. I have an allergy to "fragrance mix" or chemical fragrances, so love that they don't use synthetic fragrances or any fragrances at all in most of their products.  I personally already own most of the products from this set in full size so will compare to show you how cute and well sized the samples are.  I really wanted to pick this up so I could have some travel sized versions of my favorite products!

-Lights, Camera, Lashes! (0.10 oz)
-Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow in Shimmering Moss (0.10 oz)
-Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed (0.05 oz)
-Pure Maracuja Oil (0.23 oz)
-Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder (0.07 oz)

Top Left Sample 0.10oz / Right Full Sized 0.20oz
Middle Left Sample 0.07oz / Right Full Sized 0.32oz
Bottom Top Full Sized 0.24oz / Bottom Sample 0.10oz

Left Full Size Exposed / Right Sample Exposed
I did notice that my sample of exposed seemed slightly different than the full sized Exposed I currently own.  It's possible that they've changed the formulation slightly or just a different batch.  The sample is a lot more pinky/orange in the pan, but swatches just slightly more pink.  It's generally the same color and the difference isn't really that noticeable and could just be my indoor lighting.

Review:
Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in ExposedExposed is an amazing nude matte blush for everyday.  So easy to blend and wears really well.  It's really as good as the rave reviews I've seen everywhere.  Definitely perfect for a makeup beginner as the color is subtle and hard to overdo.

Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara Is a perfect volumizing daily mascara that won't irritate the eyes.  It's one of my favorite mascaras to date, it's not the waterproof version but it lasts well, holds a curl and doesn't flake.
Check this previous Mascara Roundup Post for the Review

Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder I haven't used my Smooth Operator powder yet as I'm still working through my bare minerals powder so don't have a review yet, but there are so many rave reviews on this setting powder.

Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow is full sized and possibly just the old packaging.

Koreabigeyes.com Review #2 - Neo Vision Dali Heart Brown and Blue

I really loved my last purchase of the Neo Vision Dali Heart Grey. I noticed that KoreaBigEyes.com had them for cheaper than Eyecandylens and had the Neovision clear cases as the bonus cases, I asked via facebook messaging and they let me add a few extra cases to my latest order.  It is definitely best to contact them through facebook, as a query via their website form or email went unanswered.

Warpzone Cookie Cutters!

A super awesome birthday present from my sister!

Warpzone on esty or warpzoneprints.com has awesome custom 3d printed cookie cutters.  My sister got me the Totoro set, Tardis and creepy ass Weeping angel.  It came well bubble wrapped in a cardboard housing in a bubble mailer. It also includes a recipe card for sugar cookies that can also be found on the website.

The cutters are fantastic and unique and work perfectly!

I'm not much a sugar cookie girl so I used my very favorite Gingerbread People cookie recipe and they came out great!  I did sub regular ap flour with king arthur gluten free flour since that's all I had on hand.  I think it was less sticky than regular flour so it might have helped with not sicking to the cutters. I used a flat spatula to move the cookie from cutting board to baking tray to minimize distortion.  I also got some rolling pin spacers from bed bath and beyond to get a consistent 1/4 in dough height, similar to these.  Yum yum yum!

Just a note if the dough is still too soft to roll add more flour.  If you like softer gingerbread, go lighter on the four, roll cookies thicker and bake slightly less.  If you like crunchy gingerbread, add slightly more flour, roll cookies thinner and bake until lightly browned.  Yield is about 3 large cookie sheets.

Gingerbread People Cookies
1/2 cups Brown Sugar
3/4 cups Molasses
2 Eggs
1/2 cups Butter (softened)
2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Allspice
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/8 tsp Ground Cloves
1/8 tsp Ginger
4 1/2 cups Flour

Preheat oven to 350º
1. In a large bowl place brown sugar, molasses, eggs, butter, baking soda, the spices and 2 cups of the flour.  Beat at low speed until just mixed.
2. Gradually add the rest of the flour until you have a stiff dough you can form and roll. ( Less is more, remember you will be adding even more flour as you roll out the dough.)  If you need more flour than the listed amount then add it.
3. Flour a flat surface and roll out the dough until 1/4"-1/2" thick if using the warpzone cutters.
4. Cut out cookies using the cookie cutters.
5. Place on a greased cookie sheet (or lined cookie sheet with parchment paper)  and bake for 10-12min until cookies are firm.

Koreabigeyes.com Review

This is my first purchase from Koreabigeyes.com and frankly I was nervous.  Their facebook had a bunch of inquires about Orders, Tracking Numbers.  Their website still had some free shipping discount message dated 2011...  but there have seem to be a ton of bloggers and youtubers that have ordered from them and had good experiences.

They have the lowest listed prices for Neo Vision, with ongoing coupons and promotions.  Like $18.90 for Neo Vision Dali Lenses right now with free shipping! What $@#%?! I just paid $29.60 on Eyecandylens.com for the new Neo Dali Heart Grey!  Yep. Fail.  To be fair I only found this website after I started trying to track down Neo Princess Purple in prescription.

Order was placed on Mar 15, confirmed on Mar 16 and shipped from Singapore with tracking # on Mar 19.  Received the package yesterday so about two weeks on the dot, same as Eyecandylens.

I did not have to contact them directly regarding this order, but I did notice that they included the clear Neo Vision lens cases as the bonus cases.  I've been wanting to get additional cases like these to organize my collection.  We'll see how they respond.

Overall I definitely recommend them, they have really competitive prices, a pretty good list of products and a lot of the new Neo Vision lenses and everything was delivered on time and as expected.  :)

Neo Vision Princess Purple Violet
Comfort: 5/5
Color Payoff: 5/5
Origin: South Korea
Water content: 45%
Diameter: 14.2 mm
Comments: These lenses are whoa, really light colored, I feel like a vampire... if they had ice purple eyes.  Super awesome for cosplay or dressing up.  Really opaque coloring, I think the enitre "princess" series has more opaque coloring on the lenses so the colors are more vibrant.

Neo Vision Princess Aqua
Comfort: 5/5
Color Payoff: 5/5
Origin: South Korea
Water content: 45%
Diameter: 14.2 mm
Comments: Really pretty, more vibrant than the Shimmer Aqua.  Not as crazy light as the purple, so still fairly natural looking.

Neo Vision Fanning Violet
Comfort: 5/5
Color Payoff: 5/5
Origin: South Korea
Water content: 45%
Diameter: 14.2 mm
Comments: Color! BAM!  These are the super vibrant purple, I think I would compare it to the Celeb Violet, a really bright purple/royal blue color on the eyes.  Very noticeable, not subtle at all.

Eyecandylens.com Review #2

This was my third purchase from Eyecandylens.com, If you don't know me I'm a hoarder collector.  All the pretty colors!  Well, I'm an engineer so I'm all about the process and finding what's right for me.  Product research if you will, collecting data and then making decisions about what I like and don't like.

Service was great as usual, took about two weeks to arrive.  My items was marked as shipped and updated with a tracking number on day 4 after my order.  I ordered on a Sunday.  Everything came well bubble wrapped in a bubble mailer envelope and survived shipping just fine.  I did notice that this time there was no Eyecandylens logo on the envelope and also no printed materials or boxes like last time.  My order was shipped from Hong Kong.  The bonus cases have also changed to these purple ones.  I found a code online and received a free kitty lens case as well.

Their prices are not the cheapest, but they do carry some lenses that the other websites do not. Their services are dependable and they are fairly responsive to inquiries via their website or on facebook. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Geo Bambi Princess Mimi Apple Green
Comfort: Good
Color Payoff: Excellent
Origin: South Korea
Water content: 38% - 42%
Diameter: 15.0 mm
Comments: Really dramatic, almost serpentine?  Definitely awesome for cosplay or some kind of costume.  (This is my second pair, I ordered some half a year ago from honeycolor but one of the lenses was defective so I tossed it out.  I didn't try them on until a few months after my order so I didn't try to get them replaced.)

Comfort: Excellent
Color Payoff: Excellent
Origin: South Korea
Water content: 45%
Diameter: 14.2 mm
Comments: I love how vibrant these are!  Really quite lovely, There is no dark limbal ring so there's not much of an enlarging affect so they look a bit more natural.

Comfort: Excellent
Color Payoff: Excellent
Origin: South Korea
Water content: 45%
Diameter: 14.2 mm
Comments: These are SO CUTE!  The comfort of Dali with a super cute yet subtle design.  They just look like dramatic grey eyes with a dark limbal ring until you look closer.  They grey in these is bit lighter than the Dali Extra Grey and Dali Extra 2 Grey.

I wanted to compare a few of my Neo green/aqua lenses as my biggest confusing when purchasing lenses online was, What's the difference????  A lot of lenses look very similar, even within the same brand.  Comparing between stock photos is difficult as they color correct and there aren't always customer photos uploaded.

As you can see in the cases they look VERY similar with Neo Lucky Clover Green having more yellows.

L->R  Neo Princess Aqua, Neo Shimmer Aqua, Neo Lucky Clover Green

The Princess Aqua is definitely slightly brighter than the Shimmer aqua but they are very similar with the shimmer aqua having a darker limbal ring.  The Lucky Clover Green is a much more dramatic change compared to the aqua.  Overall they are all the same size 14.2 and look fairly natural.
